"My main dealings were/are with ..."

About: Royal Shrewsbury Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

My main dealings were/are with head and Neck (I am a laryngectomee) and I can not fault the staff one bit - several have moved on, and I really miss seeing them - current staff, from Consultants/Doctors/Housemen/Nursing and domestic staff/student doctors/nurses are nothing less than excellent.

What could be improved

Can't think of anything - except maybe the carpet in the dayroom, which has seen better days, could be replaced with similar flooring to the ward areas. It doesn't create a first impression of spotlessness.

Anything else?

A huge well done and thank you to all, from the consultants etc - Nurses past - and all current nurses, HCAs, and the domestic crew who kindly ply me with coffees while I wait for valve changes or wait to go for my bus home.

Whether just calling in for a valve change, or occasionally having had to stay a few days, I'm always welcomed like an old friend.

:o)

Love you all,

Chas

Thank you for providing comments about our services. We aim to provide high quality services for all of our patients, and we are pleased to hear that your experience matched up to our aspirations.

Thank you for your specific feedback about the carpet in the dayroom, which we've taken on board.

Since this national website is anonymous your contact details are not shared with individual hospitals. However, if any members of our staff (or the whole team!) were particularly deserving of thanks or recognition then you can nominate them for the Chairman's Award (see www.sath.nhs.uk/about/awards.asp for more details). The Chairman's Award is presented at every meeting of the Trust Board. It recognises and thanks members of staff who go that extra mile for their patients or for their colleagues.

More information about how to make comments, compliments and complaints about our services can be found on our website at www.sath.nhs.uk

Thanks again for taking the time to comment on our services.
