"Minor Injuries Unit"

I visited the minor injuries unit on the way to work as I had a nasty cut that I thought best to get cleaned and dressed. The ideal injury for a minor injuries unit. The Receptionists attitude was appalling. She sat there head down filling in her forms while I stood like a lemming. I looked for a little bell to ring but none was available. Eventually she deigned to acknowledge my assistance. She informed me there would be quite a long wait as there were lots of old age pensioners in waiting for their bloods. I saw a sign that said injuries get priority over people waiting for an appointment but obviously not in my case. I had to get to work whilst I expect the old age pensioners would not have minded being delayed by 5 mins whilst I was fixed. Anyway I left and went to the Grove a Medical Centre which was like chalk and cheese. A welcoming and helpful receptionist and a 10 minute wait to see a lovely nurse who fixed me in about 5 minutes. Appalling service from one part of our much vaunted NHS some of whom think it's their NHS and not run for the customers who pay their wages. I'll avoid it next time.
