i saw an advert in the local paper about the healthy legs clinic. i had problems walking and had to keep stopping, i didnt want to bother my doctor about it as the surgery is very busy. my neighbour encouraged me to go along as she had been and had been given some stockings to wear to help her legs.
when i went to the clinic there was alot of peolpe waiting to be seen but i was encourged to have a cup of tea by the friendly staff.
the atmoshphere and surroundings were lovely! it wasnt like the usual clinics i have been to before. the nurse called my number out, introduced herself as Debbie and asked me what my problems were with my legs, she did a test on my legs to see what the circulation was like. The results werent very good and she telephoned the hospital to arrange an apiontment for me right away.
I was seen at the hospital and had a scan and was booked for surgery 2 days later.
I can't thank Debbie enough for picking up the problem, if i had not gone to the clinic I might have lost my leg Mr Hardy told me.
