"C difficile infection at Warrington Hospital"

About: Warrington Hospital

(as a relative),

My mother, aged 78, died at Warrington hospital in November 2008 from a hospital aquired infection, C. difficile.

After submitting our complaint to the hospital, highlighting the lack of hygiene, general care and treatment, of patients in their care, they assured my family and I they would hold an open and transparent investigation.

We were informed that the nurse (who we were told was not aware she had to wash her hands) was being disciplined, to date we have no evidence of this happening.

We were also informed that procedures would be put into place to stop this happening to anybody else, unfortunately this is not correct, as there are still people dying at this hospital and in particular on the same ward and with the same staff. If you read the item from isright this will confirm this.
