"Stock Ward"

My mother had an long operation to reconstruct her right breast which involved taking tissue from her stomach as well as reducing her left breast to match the right. This was a very worrying time for her and the rest of the family. But we were met with a shining example of the best healthcare in the world. The level of information, care, medical expertise and cleanliness in Stock Ward was exemplary. The doctors took a great deal of time to explain procedures and were very visible in their after surgery care. The nurses were incredibly knowledgable and caring and treated my mother with the utmost respect. The breast nurse played a key part in my mother feeling informed and supported during the process and in facing future hurdles. Support staff were efficient and kind and always ensured extremely high levels of cleanliness. As a family we cannot thank the staff enough and know that all those involved in her operation and care have ensured my mother's speedy recovery, well-being and given us all a renewed faith in the NHS.
