"Standards of ward care"

About: Royal Gwent Hospital / General Medicine

(as a relative),

A few observations since dad has been admitted. The bathrooms need attention - staff must have seen the state they'd been left in. I'm sure they wouldn't want to sit on such dirty loos. How can the ward run out of food? Food choices are not consistently delivered despite menu cards being filled in. I find it strange that staff don't interact with patients and families at visiting time. Why not pop round and introduce yourself and check if everything's ok? Staff are friendly and helpful on the whole however.

Hello 'KeenObserver',

Thank you for your feedback via the Patient Opinion website. I have passed on your comments to our Facilities Manager. It would also be helpful if you could let me know which ward you are referring to, so that I can also pass on your comments to the ward concerned. My email address is Sharon.harford@wales.nhs.uk.

Many thanks,

Sharon
