"Thank you for all your wonderful help!"

About: Wythenshawe Hospital

I was admitted to AMU through the A+E with severe headaches, photo phobia and persistent vomiting. Within the hour of arriving at the ED I was cannulated, had bloods taken and received IV analgesia and antiemetics. During CT, the radiographer turned off the lights for me and offered for me to wait in a dark room before transfer up to a ward because of my photophobia. It's the little suggestions such as that which reflected the compassion I received. I feel as though the staff couldn't have done enough to help. I was then admitted to a side room on AMU where the staff were more than welcoming, checked on me throughout my stay and ensured I was pain free and comfortable (particularly a staff nurse on AMU who was working the night shift of the 30.9.14) . The medical registrar on AMU was kind, respectful and explained procedures thoroughly to me, I was diagnosed and discharged 2 days later. I am an A+E nurse at a separate trust, I could not praise the care and compassion showed to me throughout my stay at Wythenshaw hospital.
