"Atrocious receptionist"

About: North Tyneside General Hospital

The receptionist was extremely rude, only giving one word answers and never made any eye contact. She is certainly not suitable for the job ! I spoke to a nurse on the other hand and she was very nice.

Dear Dawn, I am so sorry that the behaviours of a member of our reception team left you feeling so uncomfortable. Can I thank you for bringing this to our attention - we would much rather know if there is anything that concerns our patients so that we act quickly to improve where we can. We want all patients to feel welcomed into to our hospitals and we know how important that initial impression can be. We have devised special training for all our reception teams because we understand the essential part they have to play in delivering high quality care.
