I was admitted to HRI for investigations into a very severe headache, the care I received from day one was exemplary. It took 2 days to discover that I had had a brain haemorrhage but as I didn't present the normal symptoms it was very difficult to diagnose. Every avenue was investigated until they found out what was wrong. I will also be eternally grateful to the persistence of the doctors as they also discovered I had 2 aneurism's. I spent 5 days on ward 40 and the care I recieved from all those who cared for me was outstanding, reassuring me when I was concerned, answering all questions thoroughly and giving me confidence in my surgeons for the surgery I still require. Many are quick to complain about the NHS but the care I received was second to none and I have nothing but admiration for all staff I came into contact with.
"Wonderful care on ward 40"
