"Depression and anxiety"

About: Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust / Adult mental health

(as the patient),

A long list of things. Separation, having to move house, my Mother suffered from Parkinson's disease, my Father who also had depression. Their deaths, clearing out the house, trying to sell the house. My Diabetes, being sacked from the place I had worked for over 14 years.

One person Tanya was very good and consistent however I only saw her this year, prior to this I saw 3 possibly 4 different people. And these visits were far from regular.

Further to this I have had no further contact from those to whom I was referred. Initially the response was very prompt but then fell away.

If I isolate the appointments with Tanya then I would say “Helpful and encouraging”,

I’ve noticed that you would like improved access to psychological therapies. If you would like to attend courses to help with your recovery, our Recovery Academy runs a range of free courses that help people to learn a variety of therapeutic techniques, including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and Mindfulness.

Some courses currently running that you may be interested in are; 'An Introduction to Cognitive Behavioural Therapy' ‘Mindfulness and Compassion Focussed Therapy’ and ‘Living with Anxiety and Depression’.

The Recovery Academy’s prospectus is available on our website. The prospectus provides more details about these courses as well as the dates and venues they take place, how to book your place and information about other courses that may be of interest. Visit www.gmw.nhs.uk/recovery.

I hope this helps.
