I came in to A&E with an impacted bowel, a symptom of an ongoing disease and in my case potentially fatal.
The staff were fantastic. They took me through triage within 10 minutes and then straight to cubicles. They took bloods for analysis and took x-rays to make sure the colon had not ruptured, all the time reassuring me and telling me exactly what was going on. At no time was I left alone and scared. They had to give me an enema - a procedure that you can imagine is embarrassing as well as painful. But the nurse kept reassuring me nothing was a problem and looked after me very well. The doctor was very thorough and made sure I understood everything. I have nothing but praise for The George Eliot staff and I would give them a 10/10
