"Disgustingly bad blood test service"

The Phlebotomy Team Manager has looked into the issues you have raised and provided the following response: ‘I apologise for the inconvenience and lack of service we were able to provide on this occasion. Unfortunately the service at Guy's Hospital was affected by staff sickness, where cover had to be arranged at short notice. This involved staff being reassigned from St Thomas' Hospital to Guy's and resulted in a longer than average waiting time. The Outpatient Department at Guy's has to shut at 1pm to allow the staff members to have their legally required breaks before completing other required duties in other areas of the hospital at 2pm. This should have been explained more clearly to you at the time and this will be raised with the staff members present. We are also introducing mandatory customer services training for all of our staff to improve the experience for patients who visit our service. We are currently trialling an earlier opening time in both of our outpatient departments so for the foreseeable future our opening hours are: St Thomas' - 7.30am-17.50pm Guy's - 7.30am-12.50pm.’
