What I liked
The reception and nursing staff were very helpful. I went to the A&E department, it was not too busy so I was seen fairly quickly for my initial consultation and x-rays.
What could be improved
The doctor who I saw explained/said very little about what he was going to do. I was given very little and incorrect after care advice on how to look after my wound.
Anything else?
I went to my doctors a week after visiting A&E as advised. My wound had not yet healed and the doctor told me that the stitches looked as if they had been "done by a vet". I was also told that I should have been prescribed antibiotics at the time the wound was stitched up which did not happen. As a result I have very bad infection in the wound which has spread into the leg and is causing me a lot of pain in my lower leg. I am on my second course of antibiotics and have been told that the wound will leave bad scarring due to the technique used when inserting the stitches. Can't say that I am too happy about the advice (or lack of it!) that I was given by the doctor following my accident.
