"would not come here if there was other options"

About: Leicester Royal Infirmary

Second time of having to attend in two months. This new system is totally rediculous. I had to wait two hours to see a nurse in the new triage clinic, then had to wait another two hours to see the doctor in the triage ward. After this I was sent to minors which is where the start of the process used to be. To wait three hours and be told they are just waiting for there staff to change over and they are short staffed. After another hour I gave up and left. This new process does not speed anything up. Today I came in with a head injury after NHS direct on the phone told me to wait for an ambulance. With a head injury which has affected vision and lump on head which causing bad headaches Had to sit in the triage room. Again. Was seen by a nurse within 15 minutes finally thinking things had changed. However 3.5 hours later still not even seen doctor in triage room before even attending minors. Was told third I'm queue have seen four people attend and go in before me be seen by the nurse and doctor and have left. And now I am fourth in the queue?? Bloody tissues in the hall way which is just walked past constantly. The whole place from cleanliness to staffing is disgusting. The staffs excuse everytime is they are short staffed. Do something about it then Been waiting 3.5 hours and seen numerous people

Dear Ollie, Thank you for sharing your experience with us. It seems you were displeased with quite a few aspects of your experience and we are very sorry we didn't meet your expectations. We have passed this onto our A&E Management Team and head of service for the Emergency Department, as well as the Service Manager for the Urgent Care Centre. However, as some of your concerns are more serious than just long waits, we would appreciate it if you could contact the PILS team to share this with us so it can be investigated https://www.leicestershospitals.nhs.uk/patients/patient-welfare/patient-information-and-liaison-service/contact-form/ Kind regards Commnunications Team Leicester's Hospitals
