"The wait"

About: Leighton Hospital

A two hour wait to get into minors, with only 3 people in waiting room before us and and only 2 brought in afterwards. 2 ambulances arrived to majors too. Drinks machine has no cups and snack machine will only accept correct money so I can't even pay over the odds for food! Why has only 2 people been called to minors in a 2 hour period. Would love to go behind the scenes to see what happens between times.

I am very sorry to read of your frustrations regarding your visit to ED . I can assure you that every effort is made to ensure patients are seen as efficiently and safely as possible. I am unable to comment on your specific experience without knowing the date and time to review patient acuity and numbers within the department whilst you were there. However, I can assure you that the number of people in the waiting room or ambulances attending does not necessarily reflect the workload within the department. I sincerely apologise about the lack of accessibility to the confectionary machines and will ensure that this is rectified.
