Dear Sirs. I must say, it does seem at the very least, outrageously mercenary to charge car parking to any degree for patients and visitors of any description to our hospitals. I just wonder what kind of mentality could imagine it to be morally justifiable for the administrators of this health authority to impose upon people in desperate need such a tax.
It's not as if patients and visitors are likely to queuing up to visit for pleasure. I have no idea what type of revenue these charges must bring in, but I am absolutely certain it will be substantial as I regularly see full car parks all day long. Why is it that some authorities do NOT levy a charge at all? Why is it that OUR authority have been charging £4 for the first 2hrs?
I trust my comments will be logged and replied to. I do feel this issue needs to be challenged in a much bigger way than my comments here. I look forward to hearing from you.
Yours Faithfully.
