"Very efficient service but signage misleading"

About: Bishop Auckland Hospital

After a fall from my mountain bike at Hamsterly forest I was looking for a hospital to treat my injuries. The nearest appeared to be Bishop Auckland. However when driving near the hospital all of the road signs stated "no A+E", which made me think I could not attend to get my elbow wound treated. I'm not sure if this is just a terminology misunderstanding on my part, but it was only upon checking the NHS website via my mobile phone (which suggested that there was A+E) that I decided to visit the hospital. Upon arriving at the main entrance I looked for some kind of reception desk to ask if I could have my arm treated, but could not find anything. The whole hospital seemed deserted! Eventually I found a nurse who pointed me toward the "critical care" unit, which turned out to be what I would expect A+E to look like! After actually finding the correct unit, I have to say the treatment I received was excellent. I was efficiently assessed, x-ray'd and treated all within a reasonable amount of time. Thank you to all of the staff who helped me.
