"Hospital feedback"

About: Royal Preston Hospital

Today, 30/09, I attended the outpatient dept. of the vascular dept. My condition is not life threatening, (I hope), in previous visits I have seen the consultant with whom I have the utmost confidence, my experience today made a mockery of the reputation of the department. The doctor, I cannot recall his name, did not have my notes, had no clue as to why I was there and told me there was no problem with any of my major blood vessels. When I told him I had no pulse in my left wrist and that both radial and ulnar arteries were completely blocked from the elbow down, as he would have known had he read my notes, he came up with a load of nonsense to get rid of me. This doctor was ready to discharge me because he had either not read my notes or they were not available to him, he wasted his time and I wasted a whole morning. It is a shame that a department held in such high esteem can so quickly have its reputation ruined by either patient records being incomplete or unavailable or lazy doctors who do not read the notes.
