I badly cut my hand with a saw and visited my local MIU. I was seen within 5 minutes and given pain relief. My hand was looked at and the Nurse told me an X ray was needed to make sure I hadn't broken a bone as well as cut it. The X-ray was fine and he stitched my hand up. I was treated and home within 45 minutes. The nurse (sorry can't remember his name) told me that there is usually only one 'practitioner' on per shift so if they get busy there could sometimes be a wait, however, despite other people booking in and being seen while i was in X-ray, I couldn't have asked for a quicker, better service. Now just have to try to get an appointment with my surgery to get these stitches taken out!
