"OCPD with Anxiety & Depression"

About: Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust / Assertive outreach

(as the patient),

I have been an out-patient for about 5 years or so. Originally I was under the supervision of the outreach service based at Clarence House in Horsforth. The Psychiatric Consultant who saw me there provided services that supported me with my condition.

Around a year and a half ago the service was centralised and as a result I now see another Psychiatric Consultant who does not see me so regularly and in all fairness struggles to understand my condition, and the support needs that I require, even though I have reiterated them on numerous occasions. This has led to my condition getting worse, and for me to withdraw twice from University courses that I hoped would help me re-engage with society.

As a result I have even higher levels of depression and anxiety, and my ability to interact with society has got worse causing regular panic attacks. The service is neither responsive, or fit for purpose. I would like someone to tell me how I can make a formal complaint, and also how I can get the right level of support to enable me to achieve my personal goals in life.

I am very sorry to hear that you feel you have been let down by your consultant and their team, especially after your experience at Clarence house had been more positive.

You are of course entitled to make a formal complaint and your experience will be carefully investigated. You can make a complaint by emailing our patient experience manager at rowleen.stancliffe@nhs.net

Alternateivly you could speak to one of our PALS team who will be able tosupport you in meeting with your current consultant and together ensure that your needs are better met. You can do that by telephoning 0800 0525 790, or emailing pals.lypft@nhs.net.

I do hope that we are able to restore your faith in the services and that you find the support offrered to be more helpful.

with good wishes,
