"Dad contracted MSSA in blood from procedure"

About: New Cross Hospital

My dad was admitted on 1st sep 2014 for main aortic valve replacement via keyhole surgery. By the 9th sep he had contracted MSSA in his blood which showed up on blood tests. He has been on antibiotics via IV for 2 weeks. It appears even now he remains to have infection. He was clear of any infection on admission how could this happen, he already has lung cancer to deal with. Nobody has been honest or speaking to my dad and his family about what is really going on. The nurses have been fantastic on B14 but they are the only ones i can praise. We have 100 mile round trip every time we visit but that doesnt seem to matter to the Doctor, he decided to go home before we got there when he knew we wanted to speak to him, how distgusting of him. At time of typing, a meeting has been arranged for 26/9/14 to see him with my father and ourselves, i hope he is prepared to answer our questions and concerns. I doubt the hospital will reply to this reveiw

I was sorry to read your comments relating to your father's care and treament at our hospital. I understand a meeting was held on 26 September and I hope that this has clarified some of the concerns that you had.

If you do need any further assistance with this matter, I would be grateful if you could contact a member of the Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) on 01902 695362.

Kindest regards
