What I liked
a wonderful midwife & her collegue on the day - they were the most wonderfull people on the day in question (Friday 20th March 2009)
What could be improved
The Northern Doctors level of patient care & the Registra's level of sympathy & care to some one suffering a miscarrige
Anything else?
After arriving at the hospital after a refferal from the NHS Direct service & out of hours dr being told by one Dr that she would see me but quicky because her lift was waiting made me feel completly uncared for and unwelcome, especially as I was approx 7wks pregnant & having pains. (Visit No1). Then on my 2nd visit to the hospital on Friday 20th March 2009 (I had been bleeding at 11wks pregnant) i arrived at A&E and witnessed a girl miscarry infront of my eyes then had to wait over an hour to be seen and finally was told I had also lost my baby almost 5 hrs after arriving by a Dr who told me he thought the pains i'd had were my body aborting my baby, and told me to have my blood taken go home and come back on Tuesday to see if I need a medical termination - not exactly a way to break news to someone loosing their unborn child and certantly not exactly very clear!
