"Still don't know if I have cancer or not."

About: Chesterfield Royal Hospital

I have graves disease which is an autoimmune problem that effects the thyroid. I need daily Carbimazole to keep on top of it at the minute. I went into hospital to speak to an endocrinologist about having my thyroid removed. He mentioned my goitre was lob sided and I needed an ultrasound. I went for this on the 23rd of July. The guy that was doing the ultrasound said the whole thing was inflamed (because of the graves) but there was also a swollen nodule which could be cancer but might also be a benign cist caused by Hashimotos (another autoimmune problem that so far I haven't been diagnosed with). The point is they didn't know if it was cancer or not, and neither did I. I haven't heard anything back since. No letters or a new appointment, nothing. I have called twice in this time to find out what's going on and have been told the secretary is on holiday. Apparently a letter was sent to be typed but never done. I was promised it would be done the next day. The next time I called it was going to be done within a week. This didn't happen. I phoned today and I was told there was a back log and it would be done "soon". Am I being unreasonable here? The ultrasound guy told me I might have cancer and I'm just expected to hang around for 2 months.
