We had our first baby at Hexham Maternity a Unit. They were absolutely fabulous from the really calm reassuring support on the phone at home when contractions started to the balance between medical support and allowing nature to take its course during labour. The after care of both myself and my little girl was brilliant. They came across as a supportive knowledgable group of friends which was good for me as a first time mum. Never pushy or judgemental but hugely positive and reassuring. Friends of mine at other centres have felt pushed out and unsupported due to bed pressures and staff attitudes. I'm convinced it is because I went to Hexham that we are doing so well at home. A huge thanks to a great team!

It is lovely to hear that you are all doing so well at home - thanks for giving us this feedback. The team will be so delighted that you attribute some of this to the high quality care that they provided on the Maternity unit at Hexham. It is reassuring to know that our warm, compassionate and knowledgeable staff were able to give you all the support you needed and allowed you to feel confident when giving birth for the first time.
