"Patient transport a joke it this hospital"

About: Guy's Hospital

Was picked up at my home address at 2pm for a 4.30pm appointment. Not a problem as hospital in the centre of london and traffic is always busy. Left outpatients at 5.30pm and was brought down to waiting area at patient transport for my transport, needed a stretcher, home. Had to wait 2 hours, sitting and standing (i am not allowed to sit for too long due to igaps) for my transport. Not acceptable as all other patients left and at one point i was the only one there. Transport department, you need to get your act together. You let all the other teams down. Not good!

I am sorry to learn of the delay you experienced waiting for Patient Transport following your appointment. We would like the opportunity to find out what went wrong on this occasion, to prevent a similar experience occurring in the future. If you wish to have this situation investigated, please contact PALS by telephone on 020 7188 8801 or 0207 7188 8803 or by email at pals@gstt.nhs.uk. PALS can liaise with colleagues in Patient Transport to start that process.
