My son arrived home from school with a swollen ankle unable to put weight on it - doctors closed at 4.00 pm - and recalled someone telling me about M I U in Gravesend . I telephoned and asked if they would be able to help and explained my son was learning disabled , the receptionist went and checked with X-ray and said if I could get there by 4.45pm they would be able to help. On arrival the unit was a lovely modern building and spotlessly clean . Within a couple of minutes of giving our details to the receptionist who remembered me we were taken through to be assessed by the Nurse . My son was treated in a wonderful way and his needs were taken into account by both the nurse and the X-ray staff. How I wish this could be the bench mark for the whole NHS . Thank you
"Amazed."
