I had an appointment today with the dermatologist. I don't want to say who (It may seem petty) but it was not the doctor who my original appointment was with (unfortunately my appointment was changed and i had to see somebody else) I can say that it was the worst experience i have had with a medical professional. It was torturous from beginning to end. I was not listened to, i was not allowed to speak, every time i tried to speak i was talked over. It almost dissolved into an argument at one point and by the end could not wait to leave! I was given no advice, just a printout that contained no relevant information to me. I was reluctantly booked in for a patch test and told basically it wont help me. It was rushed, at one point i was told there were patients outside with cancer, in other words i was a waste of time. At another point when i tried to ask for specific information on my skin condition i was asked "does it matter" and that basically sums up the attitude of the Dermatologist. It clearly didn't matter to them and i was clearly an inconvenience and was made to feel so. After been referred by my Doctor, I had waited months for this appointment and was looking forward to receiving some real advice on how i can help my skin condition. Instead i was brushed aside and mad to feel as though i was a complete and utter inconvenience! For all of the information i received i may as well have gone on google. I will say that the Nurse who sat in on this appointment was very helpful and very professional. I do not have any complaints towards her at all. The only useful information i received came from the Nurse. Also this is only directed to the Dermatologist i saw, everybody else i dealt with were very professional.
"Dreadful"
