"Nothing But Praise for the NHS"

About: Northern General Hospital Royal Hallamshire Hospital / General surgery Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust

(as the patient),

I have nothing but praise for the services that I have received from the NHS over recent months.

As someone who took good health too much for granted I suddenly found myself in considerable need of a range of health services and I have received these in abundance in answer to my particular needs.

I have had a complex hip replacement done at Sheffield’s Northern General Hospital and my grateful thanks are extended to my surgeon, Mr Kerry, and his staff for the manner of my treatment throughout. I would also include Mr Mirza and staff at the ENT Department at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital following very successful day patient surgery there which greatly improved my hearing problems.

In total, I have experienced GP surgery consultations, A&E admission in Barnsley and extensive services at the NGH and RHH which included, surgery, ambulance and medicar provision, nursing care, hydrotherapy and physiotherapy, pre-operation assessment, blood transfusion, “bloods” clinics monitoring, x-rays, medication, adaptation and aids provision, pharmacy and mental health treatment and counselling. I cannot speak too highly of the quality of care that I have received from all staff of the NHS with whom I have come in to contact.

I appreciate that not everyone has the same level of satisfaction with their NHS as I. But I am sure that even those whose personal experiences are less satisfactory than my own would agree that we are indeed fortunate to have an NHS at our disposal which is staffed by people who are professional, caring, dedicated, sympathetic and supportive.
