This morning we attended the Royal Oldham Hospital’s Adult Medicine Department. This was in response to a telephone call saying that we needed to attend urgently following a visit to A&E at Fairfield General Hospital yesterday. Today we had a far better experience of the NHS. The doctors took their time to listen. The doctor we saw looked at all the clinical, pathological and radiological evidence. Every test came back as normal. That was very reassuring to hear. It is frightening though that you have to trust doctors because you’re not one yourself but to have been given a misdiagnosis last night at Fairfield (cf. reviews “Appalling service” and “Appalling service continues”). The only complaint you could raise about today is being told you get there urgently but when you get there there’s no urgency and you’re left sitting round waiting.
"Better experience and no bad diagnosis"
