About: Bishop Auckland Hospital

I've been fortunate not to be a frequent user of hospitals, but was hugely impressed by the care and attention offered to me during my short stay for a hernia operation. Without exception, the medical and support staff are delightful and showed a real commitment to providing reassurance where needed and minimising my discomfort. Two small areas which could be improved: there must be a way of reducing waiting times for surgery on the day of the operation. I was asked to attend by noon, but then spent four hours staring at the walls in the waiting room before being called through; second, the waiting would have been less tedious if the hospital offered free Wifi - not too much to ask these days,surely.
