Too often we hear of the many anomalies afflicting NHS Hospitals and Trusts and daily we read of the dreadful treatment of patients and cover-ups resulting from substandard care.Indeed, Leighton Hospital has, on occasions, been accused of such, thus causing apprehension, lack of trust and stress induced fear. I am not without past knowledge of care below standard. However, it's all very well decrying standards, but, when the opposite is plain to see it is also right and proper that such high regard is noted and expressed in a similar manner. An appointment at the "Eye Care Centre" on Friday 20th June 2014 was the last of my visits to have taken place over a period of time. Far from being apprehension filled - each and every visit was a pleasure. Everyone I came into contact with, Consultants, Nurses and Ancillary staff were kind and considerate. Their explanations of procedures precise and easily understood. I rate their efficiency very highly indeed. To the consultant my grateful regards and thanks for the prompt diagnosis and treatment - without which the end result may not have been quite so satisfactory. To all members of the team I thank you for your professionalism and courtesy, it was a pleasure to meet you all. Best Wishes, Teresa.
