"arthroscopic decompression and rotator cuff repair"

About: Thornbury Hospital (Sheffield)

(as the patient),

I was concerned about having surgery and particularly, the anesthetic, but I should not have worried.

My surgeon, Mr Potter, was informative and re assuring and the anesthetist was so kind and allayed my fears.

After the operation, I was visited by Mr Potter to give me an update on what he had done and I was seen by the physiotherapist, Christine, who gave me comprehensive instructions on my exercises and use of the sling.

The food was lovely-just what I needed after a serous bout of pre op fasting!

The nurses who changed my dressings, checked my progress and made sure I was comfortable were all very professional, but kind and caring too.

I was really worried about the whole procedure, but everyone made me feel at ease and confident that I would be well cared for.

thank you to everyone involved.
