"some things good some bad!"

About: West Heath Hospital

My husband recently had a long stay at the hospital, giving drugs on time seemed to present a problem, mainly change over times. Clothes lost several t-shirts and an soft fleece jacket!; that had been given as a present, when the staff were asked they just shrugged their shoulders and said I don't know not good attitude! Banter at times to the patients is a bit over the mark! my husband did comment on this! when people are in for a long time they do need some interaction, my husband was left for many hours in the day room very few members of staff checking his well-being! Some Agency staff were rude! and did not listen walking away muttering! The hospital needs more social workers to speed up patients going home! The majority of the staff did care and try their best what appeared at times to be a hopeless situation, lack of staff. All issues were reported when they occurred and apologies were given, however a lot of things need addressing!

Thank you for your feedback about your husband's recent stay in West Heath Hospital. I am sorry you found agency staff to be rude and staff were unhelpful when his clothes went missing. Matron and ward staff welcome feedback about where improvements can be made to make things better for our patients, and we therefore welcome the opportunity to speak to you in person about this experience. If you are able to, please contact me, Alison Last, Associate Director of Patient Experience by email alison.last@bhamcommunity.nhs.uk or phone 0121 466 7128. I look forward to hearing from you again in due course.
