"1 Week stay following a heart attack"

About: Glenfield Hospital

I was taken by an ambulance to the Glenfield Hospital at approximately 11:30pm. I was seen by a clinical nurse, and I had some blood taken and then by a doctor in the "triage" bays. After a second blood test, a heart attack was confirmed. Then I was transferred to the CDU ward. I as there for nearly 48 hours a "monitored bed" became available. All the staff were excellent. I am vegetarian and the meals too very excellent and of very high quality. Then I was transferred to Ward 33. I was constantly monitored. The medical staff ensured I was given information of my treatment. Once again all the staff were excellent. There were emergencies when I saw a large number of staff acted promptly to provide urgent medical assistance, This reassured me that I was in the best hospital, should I need medical assistance. After an angiogram I was discharged with appropriate medication. I am glad that there such world class facility in the heat of UK. I total I was in the hospital for 7 nights. Thank you to NHS and all the staff at Glenfield Hospital.

Dear Jayesh, Thank you very much for taking the time to share your experience with us. It sounds like you went through a very difficult and worrying time, so we are delighted to know our staff were kind, compassionate and caring throughout your whole stay with us. We have passed your comments onto the CDU team, ward 33 team and Interserve, who provide the food too! Positive feedback like this really does boost staff morale, so thank you. And dont forget, you can nominate an individual or whole team for a Caring at its Best award via our website http://www.leicestershospitals.nhs.uk/aboutus/our-purpose-strategy-and-values/caring-at-its-best-awards/public-nomination-form/ Wishing you the best of health for the future, Laura Mort Communications Team Leicester's Hospitals
