"Meals"

About: Freeman Hospital

Having been a frequent patient of late onto a ward you normally get offered a sandwich and soup. This is fine and would be much better if all soups were made from scratch as they are much tastier for patients. The sandwiches offered to patients are a very poor standard I. E. Caked with butter/margarine, bread dry or covered in a different filling to what you ask for. Sandwiches purchased in the shop or cafe have always been found to be tasty and very fresh. I believe they are tiffin sandwiches. I thought all hospital users who have meals are served the same! I have even had to ask my husband to buy a sandwich from the hospital shop before he has left so that I had something fresh to eat! It appears to be on the news that hospital food is being improved! Is the food at the freeman being looked at in terms of fresh food
