"Urology Dept"

About: Conquest Hospital

Following three visits to the Urology Dept at Hastings Conquest after being diagnosed with bladder cancer, I would not under any circumstances recommend this department to any other patient. The 'Consultants' appeared almost disinterested, careless and on two occasions could not even remember my name, which hardly inspires confidence when they were abruptly suggesting they remove my bladder - how would they know they had the right patient.Staff would continue chatting about their weekend while patients waited un-attended. After the third experience here we asked our GP to refer me to The Royal Marsden which was like a different world by comparison - okay the building is older and packed to the rafters with cancer patients, but the staff are amazing - supportive, informative and endlessly patient. How can two NHS establishments be so totally different.
