"Bad receptionist & poor information on waiting..."

About: Southampton NHS Treatment Centre

The receptionist had poor customer service skills and seemed fairly disinterested. He did not make eye contact with patients and when people were asking how long they would be waiting, just kept repeating he could not say but 3 nurses were seeing people. Did not even seem willing to give a best guess estimate which would have enabled people to decide if the person accompanying them should stay or go and come back later. Several signs in waiting area stating they have a safe to wait check to ensure people are seen within an appropriate time frame, but I waited 45 minutes to see the Triage nurse, difficult to see how this would be an appropriate time frame if a patient was truly unwell. The clinical staff were however friendly welcoming and informative and in total I was seen, had x-ray and reviewed within 2 hours so not too bad.
