"Sleep deprivation!"

About: Chorley & South Ribble Hospital

More staff than patients during the day with no complaints, but at night a very different story! Noise level was totally unacceptable. Banging, crashing and loud speaking between nurses. Sleep is an important part of the healing process which staff should not need to be told about, someone please remind them. Food, however low the budget , needs to be wholesome and nourishing. Another part of the healing process. Get the latter two points correct and there will be a marked improvement in the care of the patients. Please take note management/director of nursing who are paid vast salaries for not getting the very basics right.

Thank you for your feedback. We're sorry to hear of your husband's experience with regard to being unable to sleep because of noise. The Trust has undertaken a significant amount of work over the past 18 months to try to address this issue; consequently, we are extremely disappointed to read your comments. Please be assured that they have been fed back to senior nursing staff in the department, who will remind staff of the need to be mindful of causing patients as little disruption as possible at night.
