"Inpatient review"

About: Basildon University Hospital

I have had the very good fortune to have been an inpatient in elizabeth fry five times in the last six months I cannot fault the staff from the cleaners up to the consultants they all work so hard and are always friendly and willing to answer what must be stupid questions to them I do not recommend kidney disease to anyone but there are much worse places to end up than here I only have two complaints one is the menu which is very boring as the menu is not changed very much but considering the budget the hospital gets per patient is less than a prisoner they do their best the other is the tv and media services which are quite frankly a rip off you pay to watch free view channels and cannot get. Full internet access and the films have hardly changed since September but that is a separate company not connected with the hospital I understand when people say their relative died here but it is a hospital and must therefore have a higher mortality rate than normal so I summing up I think this ward do a difficult job very well. And I cannot speak highly enough about it

We are pleased that your experiences of care on Elizabeth Fry Ward at Basildon and Thurrock University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust were good. As you rightly say, the staff are faced with a very difficult job which they do well. They will be heartened to read your comments which I will ensure I forward on to their management. Thank you for taking the time to post your kind words.
