"Excellent treatment for Hypothyroidism"

About: Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital (Wonford) / Endocrinology

(as the patient),

l have been hypothyroid for 3 years now. ln this time l have been put on the standard treatment of thyroxine medication, with disasterous results. l ended up so ill and in pain that my life changed dramatically, l had to use a wheelchair l couldn't walk or think or do anything that l was used to taking for granted. l mainly just existed sitting at home al day unable to function much at all.

Eventually my GP referred me to an endo at the above hosp. After many combinations of treatments my endo put me on Armour thyroid medication and my life has been made worth living again.

l'm still nothing like completely well but l am so much better than l was, l can think clearly again and that has changed my lfe so that now l am able to join society again.

The endo at this hosp was willing to let me try a medication outside the normal prescribing and not in the formulary book and for that l am so grateful to this hospital.
