"Unacceptable delay in treatment for suspicious..."

In March 14 had an ultrasound on thyroid within days I was called to my gp as the results were suspicious. He referred me under the two week rule and I was seen very quickly - a week - I was advised by the dr at the hospital it was nothing nasty. He said he would have to request a biopsy anyway though and this would also be within two weeks rules. I was eventually given an appointment ( only after I chased it ) four weeks later for the biopsy. I am now in May and only just had results - my first appointment was cancelled by the hospital as the referring doctor had requested the wrong consultant, it has eventually taken place this week. I have been advised the biopsy is suspicious and I need surgery. I asked how long this would be but the doctor didn't know. I advised I was very anxious to have it done ASAP one of the pre op nurses called admissions and requested I be put on a cancellation list. When I was with the doctor he asked if I would be willing to be seen by some students I agreed very happily. Today I was contacted by the medical exams team to discuss my attending for the students exams on the 25th June. I hoped to have had my surgery by then as I am well past the 62 day rule for starting treatment where cancer is suspected! Concerned I called the admissions team who tell me there is a note on my file saying not to book for surgery until after 25th June! As you can imagine I am really not very happy I have a lump suspicious for cancer and the doctor despite my request for speedy surgery has decided against my wishes he would delay this for the benefit of students!! Absolutely lost for words and concerned now that I don't want him to treat me if he is prepared to sacrifice my wishes and delay my treatment without my consent !
