"Nursing staff in a and e"

About: Medway Maritime Hospital

I went to A&E on Monday 19/5/14@ 10pm with severe hyperemisis at 15 weeks pregnant. It was very busy, with only one receptionist and one triage nurse. But even so, I was seen quite quickly and the nurse on duty was so kind and was really empathetic. It was a nightmare trying to find a vein as I was severely dehydrated and vomiting every 5 minutes, but he managed to cannulate me with ease and get me straight to pearl ward where I received, again excellent treatment. Needless to say I was very impressed with the standard and quality of care I received in A&E, this nurse is truly an asset to Medway hospital. I have never received care like that by a nurse, especially by one so busy in A&E. I would like to say thank you to him personally for being so kind, when I was so ill and very stressed. It makes a huge difference knowing your in good hands.

Thank you so much for taking the time to give this feedback which has been passed onto the team. I am pleased to hear you were seen quite quickly and the nurse on duty was kind and empathetic. I do hope you are doing well now. Please feel free to contact me, John Fletcher, Senior Matron for the Emergency Department, on 01634 830000 x3847 if you wish to discuss your experience any further.
