"Cancelled appointment"

About: The James Cook University Hospital

I have a 5 week old daughter. At 3 weeks we noticed anisocoria with her eyes. After phoning 111 we went to our walk in clinic. The doctor wasn't able to assess my daughter properly as she was asleep but suggested we see our gp ASAP. We did this the following day and he referred us to a consultant with an accompanying letter to speed things along. The appointment was at James Cook hospital, Middlesbrough for tomorrow but at the last minute they've cancelled. We hope the anisocoria is benign but there are a number of serious conditions that this could indicate. We just want to see an ophthalmologist ASAP to find out. I'm thinking of taking her to a&e instead. Any advice would be welcome. (It's also cost my employer to cover my time off)
