"Refused to be treated"

I am a member of Mayo Dentist in Lancaster however, I find it difficult to access because of my job (I am a teacher and it is difficult to leave work). Mayo Dentists suggested I access the out of hours NHS dentist in Morecambe. On arrival I explained that part of my back lower left side tooth had broken away and this was causing me pain. The dentist began examining my right side and I had to correct him. After looking at my tooth the dentist said I had an infection and began filling a form out for antibiotics. I said that I did not think I had an infection and that the pain was being caused by the part of my tooth that had crumbled away. At this point both the dentist and the nurse became defensive and rude telling me that myself struggling to access my dentist in Lancaster because of my work situation was not there problem. Both 'professionals' were rude in manner. At this point the lady who worked on reception came and asked me what the problem was. I explained and left the dentists room. I asked the lady from reception for my money back and she said that was not a problem and apologised for my experience. I asked her if the hospital does X Rays and temporary fillings and she said yes. I asked her why they had refused to help me and she said she did not know but she thought I needed to make an official complaint. I asked to speak to the dentist again and was let back in. I asked the dentist why he had refused to help me and he denied not wanting to help. Both the dentist and the nurse clearly said my problem was not there problem and that I needed to go to my dentist in Lancaster for help. My dentist in Lancaster advised me to go to the out of hours service! At this point the dentist became very sarcastic and said he would do an X Ray if thats what I wanted. He did the X Ray and told me to wait in the waiting room. When I went back in the dentist said he was going to numb my gum for treatment. He said it would hurt but reassured me this was not revenge. He said he would take all of my original filling out and put a dressing on it and then it 'was up to me'. I asked what this meant and he said that I needed to go to my dentist in Lancaster which defeats the whole object of me trying to access an out of hours service! I decided to leave the hospital at this point and went home with a numb mouth but no help! I know that all I needed was a temporary filling then I could access my dentist in Lancaster at half term (I usually make appointments during the school holidays). All in all, both the dentist and the nurse were sarcastic, uncooperative, patronising, rude and unhelpful. I will be making an official complaint. As a tax payer into the NHS for 20 years I am appalled that I cannot access a basic NHS service that I have to pay for anyway. Be careful if you visit this hospital. Both the dentist and the nurse shook their heads at me and at times even laughed at me sarcastically.
