"Prescription charges."

About: Norfolk PCT

(as other),

My partner had an infected cyst which required over 40 dressings before the hospital could remove it.After a few visits to the GP surgery to have dressings changed a member of staff called out in front of other patients when was my partner going to pay the amounts outstanding. Each time they changed a dressing they had levied a prescription charge even though they had not previously told him this. This was bad enough but for many years my partner had queried why he was not exempt from prescription charges as he takes drugs for epilepsy. The surgery would not agree to sign the exemption form & he had accepted that as medical people they must be right. They have now agreed that they were wrong but we have not been able to get any refund of prescription charges paid in error over many years.

Moral being - never believe medical people are always right.
