Sorry, I didn't realise you could leave a review, I stayed on ward 10, in dec 2012, i arrvied by taxi, and the look from the outside I dreaded going inside, once inside the porter said the ward was in the basement, again I thought on no why have I chosen to come thro to Hudderfield instead of waiting for a slot in York, but as soon as I arrived on the ward, my nerves went, the staff were so friendly and helpful, I was put in a side ward and checked throughout the day, I hadn't used my bathroom so told the cleaner not to bother cleaning it, but he said sorry to bother you but I have to, so again my nerves went. The night staff on the ward where fab too, I was asked the next morning if I needed any help in getting ready for my op, but I was ok, I was walked down with a very friendly nurse, and she stayed with me until I went into theatre, even tho it was very busy both on the ward and in the hospital in general as it was really bad weather that morning. My op went very well, and was very well looked after on my return to the ward. The next day, there was two student nurse who were very caring and interested in myself and the other patients, even coming to say bye, wishing us a happy Christmas and wishing us all the best on going home, which I thought was very nice. The only downside was my partner had travelled over from Scarborough to visit, he texted me to say that he had just checked in the hotel, so I asked a nurse if he would be allowed in half an hour early, she said yes, but when he arrived he wasn't allowed in. But as I say that's the only complain I have, the hospital was very clean, all the staff I had contact with were very friendly and helpful. Thank you, for making my stay safe and relaxed.
