"Reception & speed with support"

About: Royal Bournemouth General Hospital

Came to the A&E department at about 12.30pm on Wednesday 10th September 2014, having fallen on the escalator in Marks & Spencer Casltepoint. The first aid staff had patched me up there. I had cut my left arm above the elbow and down as far as the wrist and from the elbow upwards to the shoulder. Since I am on warfarin there was a little difficulty with stopping the bleeding. The kindness and expertise of the nursing staff and the doctor who attended was first class and my wife and myself left after about two hours very impressed and happy with all that had taken place. Many many thanks to all in the department.

Dear Mr Venison Thank you for taking the time to share your experience of our Emergency Department and I am so sorry to hear about your accident. It must have been a frightening time for you and your wife. It is good to hear that the department store staff were able to patch you up and I am so pleased that our ED staff worked quickly and professionally to complete your treatment with kindness and compassion. I will pass on your kind comments to the Emergency Department Matron to share with the rest of her team and I wish you a swift recovery. Kind regards Sue Mellor Head of Patient Engagement
