"Excellent care from doctors and nurses"

About: Good Hope Hospital

My 15 year old son had fell and banged his head playing football. My wife took him to the A & E dept late on the evening because he was suffering from a headache and a spaced out feeling. The nurses and doctors in children's A & E were friendly and professional and they kept us informed. The doctor decided to admit my son for observation overnight and he was taken to a private room on the children's ward. The staff (nurses, doctors) on the ward were exceptional, again professional and friendly and we were really pleased with the care my son received, checking his vitals every 2 hours and keeping us informed. My wife was able to stay with him and was provided with a bed. Although it was a worrying and stressful time it was eased by the treatment my son and my family received. Thank you.

Hi

Thanks for taking the time to post your feedback. It's always very stressful when a child is poorly and I was pleased to hear that our teams have supported you during your child's stay with us.

We are reviewing our children's emergency service and we would be happy to hear any suggestions you may have to improve the service further ( email via ann-marie.riley@heartofengland.nhs.uk or telephone 01214249664).

I will ensure that each of the teams are given a copy of your feedback

Thanks again

Ann Marie
