"A wonderful experience for a first time mum"

About: North Middlesex Hospital

After reading some of the reviews posted here I was doubting my choice of having my baby at North Middlesex, however after my experience of giving birth to my daughter on 3/9/14 I felt compelled to share my great experience. I agree that the antenatal clinic is frustrating. There is one particularly rude receptionist and the waiting times (particularly for a pregnant woman) are far too long. This made me nervous about what would happen on the big day. The care I received from the very experienced midwife and student midwife during my labour was amazing. As a first time mum I was very nervous, especially when told that the midwife led birth centre was closed due to staff shortages and it was too late for an epidural but the two midwives who laboured my baby quickly put me at ease. I was later transferred to the birth centre after my baby was born and the after care I received there was fantastic. My husband was able to stay over night with me and the baby. The midwives there helped me with all my questions and queries and reassured me all the way. I could not have asked for a better experience from the staff, thank you!

Thank you for your comments. I am the head of midwifery services meredith.deane@nhs.net and will be sharing your comments with my team. I am glad that the midwives were able to calm you and reassure during your delivery helping you to have a good birthing experience. Please contact me by email if you would like to discuss it any further.
