Most of the staff are amazing, from the nurses in the waiting room that take your blood pressure and fill out your paperwork to the anaesthetist's, surgeon's and the nurses on the wards. I am extremely nervous when it comes to needles so was kindly given numbing cream for the tops of my hands. After 5 hours in surgery I woke up in the Kingfisher ward where the nurses were so nice and always checking to make sure you're comfortable and not in too much pain, then the next day I saw my surgeon and the attending nurse who explained what happened during surgery and advised me on how long to rest etc and answered all my questions so all was fantastic. On the final day when there was a change in staff there was one nurse who didn't have many people skills and was even rude to the student nurse she was training and other staff, so apart from one person, my whole experience of my first hospital stay was actually quite pleasant and I can't thank the staff enough. It's a shame they aren't paid what they're worth
